Add your first app

Adding an app is the first step in ASO Automation. Once it's added, you can explore its store listing, research keywords, generate metadata and track results. The flow takes three steps: Choose Your App, Select Competitors and Preview.

Before you start

• You find your app by searching the App Store or Google Play, so you don't need to connect a store account first.
• The number of apps and competitors you can track depends on your plan.

Step 1: Open the add-app flow

Use any of these:

• Add new app on the Home page (ASO Apps).
• Add app at the top of the side menu.
• The + button next to My Apps in the side menu.

Step 2: Choose your app

1. Under Select your device, choose the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
2. Under Select your country, pick the country you want to track the app in.
3. Search for your app by name and select it from the results. The search is enabled once a country is selected.
4. Click Next.

Apps already in the current workspace don't appear in the search results. Changing the store or country clears the app you selected.

Step 3: Select competitors

ASO Agent loads suggested competitors for your app and pre-selects them for you (up to what your plan allows).

1. Review the apps under Added Competitors. Each shows its App Authority score – a score that summarizes an app's overall store strength and visibility.
2. Untick any competitor you don't want.
3. Use Search for a competitor to add others.
4. Click Next (or Skip if you don't want any competitors).

The counter next to Added Competitors shows how many you've added out of your plan's limit. If you reach it, you'll see "You've reached your maximum competitors for your plan." along with an upgrade option.

Step 4: Preview and confirm

The Preview step summarizes Your Device, Your country, Your App and Competitors.

• Click Back to change anything.
• Click Done to add the app.

ASO Agent adds the app to the workspace and opens it. The app now also appears on the Home page and in the My Apps list in the side menu.

If you close the dialog before finishing, you'll be asked to confirm, and your selections won't be saved.
