Track keywords
Add keywords to track for your app, organize them with favorites and negative labels, and export your list.
Updated September 30, 2026
Tracked keywords are the core of Keyword Research. ASO Agent follows their volume, difficulty and your ranking over time, and compares your ranks with competitors. The number of keywords you can track depends on your plan.
Start with suggestions
The first time you open App Keywords (or Keyword Performance) for an app with no tracked keywords, you'll see Start with these keyword suggestions. These are the most relevant terms your app already ranks for.
- Click Start with these keywords to track them all at once.
- Click Skip for now to build your list by hand.
Add keywords
On App Keywords or Keyword Performance, you can add keywords in three ways:
From the keyword picker
The picker shows every keyword your app ranked for in the top 100 over the last 7 days, sorted by relevance, with its volume. Chips with a plus icon aren't tracked yet; chips with a check are.
- Click a chip to track it (click again to stop tracking).
- Use the Volume and Position filters to narrow the list, then click Add all to track every keyword shown.
By typing
- Type a keyword in Search for a keyword.... To add several, separate them with commas.
- Press Enter.
You'll see a confirmation such as "Added to tracked keywords", or "Already in tracked keywords" if it's already on your list.
From other tabs
On Keyword Family, and in the Targeted list of a generated ASO, select keywords and click Send to app keywords.
If you reach your plan's keyword limit, you'll be offered an upgrade. Remove keywords you no longer need to make room.
Remove keywords
- Click a tracked chip in the picker, or click Remove all to untrack every keyword currently shown.
- In the My Keywords table, tick keywords and click the delete button in the selection bar.
Label keywords
In the My Keywords or Tracked Keyword Performance table, tick keywords and use the selection bar:
- Favorite (star) – mark keywords you care about most. A star appears next to the keyword.
- Negative – mark keywords you don't want to target. An "N" icon appears next to the keyword.
- Remove label – clear the label.
Copy and export
Tick keywords and use the selection bar to copy them to the clipboard, or click Export CSV or Export XLSX. The export includes each keyword's volume and difficulty, plus rank, trend, chance and relevance per app.
